Creating Classrooms for Everyone: How Interactive Technology Supports Universal Design for Learning
Presenter: Kathleen H. McClaskey, President, Ed Tech Associates
I am one of 7 presenters selected by SMART Technologies to present at a special event called Learning
Matters at the ISTE 2010 on June 27th.
As the field of education experiences an increase in students with diverse learning needs, a new and effective classroom model for instructing all students is called for. Innovative technologies including interactive whiteboards, simulations and online tools will need to be leveraged to create universally-designed classrooms where all students can learn and thrive. With these technologies, teachers can create a learner friendly environment where full access to the curriculum can be realized and digital materials and tools can be used by every student. Come and experience how interactive tools and websites can help teachers create a universally designed classroom where all students can be engaged in learning.
