Assistive Technology Consulting for Learning Disabilities
For Students with Learning Disabilities
EdTech Associates offers both Assistive Technology Evaluations and Training services for students with learning disabilities. We understand that children with learning disabilities have their own distinctive set of strengths, weaknesses, special talents and experiences. We strive to look at every aspect of your child’s educational experience in recommending the appropriate technologies for school and home.
Formal and Comprehensive Private Evaluations
An Assistive Technology (AT) Evaluation offers insight into the technologies that can be of educational benefit to your son or daughter. The evaluation process takes into consideration the technology that is available at home and at school in conjunction with the specific learning needs required of your son or daughter. The AT Evaluation includes:
- Initial Consultation with parent(s);
- Review of Records;
- On-Site Consultation and Observations (if appropriate and approved by parents);
- Evaluation Session with student;
- Follow-up Appointment – review findings and recommendations and a Written Report related recommendations to the IEP goals and objectives (completed within four weeks of Evaluation Session).
Personalized Training
Once an AT Evaluation is complete, Personalized Training on application software and assistive technology tools can help learners to develop independence – the optimal goal. We tailor training with this goal in mind.
